Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis
- Maintain sterile equipment and workstations per OSHA standards
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures with empathy
- Document collections in EMR systems with precision
- Collaborate with lab staff for urgent specimen handling
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated and functioning optimally
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- 1+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in blood collection techniques (pediatric, geriatric)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and lab safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- High school diploma or equivalent
