Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Ensure accurate labeling, processing, and handling of blood specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
- Interact professionally with patients of all ages, explaining procedures clearly to alleviate anxiety.
- Manage and maintain phlebotomy inventory, reporting shortages or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Collaborate with lab technicians and healthcare providers to ensure timely delivery of test results.
- Document patient information accurately into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification.
- Valid North Carolina State Phlebotomy License.
- Previous clinical experience preferred; new graduates with externships are welcome to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and documentation.
