Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and safe venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of all biological specimens.
- Greet patients with a professional demeanor, explain procedures, and alleviate anxiety.
- Manage phlebotomy supplies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses and laboratory staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or completion of an accredited training program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions precisely.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
