Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and CAP standards
- Maintain accurate patient records using our EHR system
- Ensure proper specimen handling and transport protocols
- Provide patient education and emotional support during procedures
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Adhere to all OSHA and HIPAA compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or AMT preferred)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong venipuncture skills with diverse patient populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency with specimen processing systems
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- High school diploma or equivalent required
