Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Greet patients, verify identities, and explain procedures to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Label, process, and transport blood specimens accurately to the laboratory for analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, OSHA safety standards, and aseptic techniques.
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with nurses and medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- 1-2 years of professional phlebotomy experience preferred but entry-level candidates with externships are welcome.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
