Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Interact professionally with patients of all ages to ensure a positive and stress-free experience.
- Label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory following strict chain-of-custody protocols.
- Adhere to all OSHA and CLIA safety guidelines regarding infection control and sharps disposal.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in the EMR system.
- Assist with inventory management of blood collection supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Maryland state license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Previous clinical experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
