Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and micro-collection techniques efficiently and accurately.
- Verify patient identities and accurately document medical history and test requests.
- Label, sort, and prepare blood specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterile techniques.
- Manage patient flow in the phlebotomy area to minimize wait times.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as updating electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with EHR systems.
