Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label blood samples for laboratory testing.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards (OSHA).
- Manage patient reception, check-in procedures, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Ensure all phlebotomy equipment is sanitized and properly maintained.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing medical records and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Proven experience in drawing blood and handling lab specimens.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and patient confidentiality.
