Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal patient health outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to all safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians and other nurses, to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Respond to medical emergencies and critical situations with calmness and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN).
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (may be obtained during orientation).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with electronic medical records.
