Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures to ensure comfort, and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing while adhering to strict chain-of-custody protocols.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control guidelines and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records (EHR) as needed.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
