Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and finger sticks with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards (OSHA guidelines).
- Accurately label, process, and transport laboratory specimens to ensure test accuracy.
- Interact professionally with patients of all ages, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Assist in inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) from a recognized body (e.g., ASCP, NHA, ASPT).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clinical or laboratory setting is preferred but not mandatory for new graduates.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- CPR/BLS certification is required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
