What You’ll Do:
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
- Label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
- Manage inventory and sterilization of phlebotomy equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff to ensure high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients using venipuncture and microcollection techniques.
- Verify patient identity and medical information prior to every procedure.
- Prepare blood samples for analysis and transport them to the lab in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment.
- Handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to support patient care initiatives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Valid driver's license is preferred but not mandatory.
