Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages with a focus on accuracy and patient comfort.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, infection control measures, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure full compliance with HIPAA privacy standards.
- Handle and process specimens according to CLIA and CAP guidelines for laboratory analysis.
- Provide exceptional patient experience by answering questions, explaining procedures, and alleviating anxiety.
- Collaborate effectively with laboratory technologists, nurses, and physicians to ensure seamless patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent is required.
- Valid North Carolina Phlebotomy license must be maintained.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
