Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with a high degree of precision and patient comfort.
- Ensure the accurate labeling, processing, and transportation of all blood specimens in strict compliance with CLIA and HIPAA regulations.
- Interact professionally with patients of all ages, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure timely test results.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Active and valid Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) (or equivalent state license).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates with externship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric mindset.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (for facility travel if required).
