Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to join our clinical team. You will be responsible for collecting blood samples, verifying patient information, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and laboratory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, OSHA safety protocols, and sterile techniques.
- Manage and inventory phlebotomy supplies, ensuring equipment is calibrated and operational.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and physicians to ensure a smooth clinical workflow.
- Document patient information accurately and legibly into the EMR system.
- Assist with patient intake and provide instructions regarding pre-test procedures.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift and maneuver patients weighing up to 200 lbs as necessary.
- Valid California Driver's License (if mobile phlebotomy is required for the role).
