As a vital member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the accurate collection of blood samples, ensuring the highest standards of patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and efficient venipunctures and capillary blood draws with a focus on patient comfort.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Properly label, process, and log all specimens to ensure accurate diagnostic results.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and address any concerns to reduce anxiety.
- Manage inventory of supplies, including blood collection tubes and lancets, and restock as needed.
- Collaborate with nurses and lab personnel to ensure seamless workflow and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Technologist (PBT) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Nevada Driver’s License preferred (for potential local outreach duties).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
