Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Label, process, and transport specimens accurately to laboratory departments
- Verify patient identification and maintain complete medical records
- Prepare phlebotomy trays and ensure proper equipment sterilization
- Provide patient education and comfort during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting
- Valid New Mexico driver's license and reliable transportation
