Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Ensure accurate labeling, handling, and processing of blood specimens
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control standards
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for lab analysis
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Current Alaska Phlebotomy Technician certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience
- Strong venipuncture skills with minimal discomfort to patients
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency for medical records
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
