Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical assessments and monitor patient health status to identify changes in condition.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records and patient charts.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate interventions as needed.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Diploma holders are considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
