Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care including assessment, medication administration, and treatment implementation
- Develop and execute individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor patient progress, document clinical findings accurately, and communicate critical changes
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and preventive care
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with evidence-based practices
- Support new staff through mentorship and clinical guidance programs
Qualifications
- Valid New York State RN license (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN with 3+ years acute care experience considered
- Minimum 2 years recent hospital experience in acute care or specialty unit
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Proficiency in Epic EHR system or comparable electronic documentation
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills in emergency situations
- Strong interpersonal abilities with diverse patient populations
- Commitment to continuous professional development
