Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on evidence-based practice.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, strictly adhering to established protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient recovery.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record in a timely manner.
- Provide compassionate emotional support and health education to patients and their families.
- Respond promptly and professionally to medical emergencies and critical care situations.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of nursing students and junior staff members.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred; Associate Degree (ADN) considered.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy and empathy.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
