Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Health: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor patient conditions to identify changes that require immediate intervention.
- Administer Care: Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Regularly monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate, ensuring accuracy and timely documentation.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document Patient Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) reflecting patient care activities, observations, and interventions.
- Educate Patients: Provide clear instructions and education to patients and their families regarding disease management, discharge planning, and post-care instructions.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit, ensuring patient safety and applying appropriate protocols.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; PALS preferred.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Diploma graduates considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse patient populations and families.
- Critical Thinking: Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Technology: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical technology equipment.
