Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care in accordance with hospital protocols and nursing standards.
- Monitor patient vitals and conditions continuously, promptly reporting any changes to the charge nurse or physician.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule, ensuring patient safety and informed consent.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) to ensure continuity of care.
- Respond to medical emergencies with speed and precision, utilizing critical thinking and nursing judgment.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Qualifications
- Active RN License in the State of Maryland (or compact state eligibility).
- BLS and ACLS Certification required at time of hire.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
