Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor health status through history taking, physical exams, and health screenings.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patient response to treatments, recognizing changes in condition and initiating emergency interventions immediately.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized, patient-centered care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families during the night shift.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required (CPR required).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a critical care or acute care unit.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
