Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict adherence to hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor vital signs and patient conditions continuously throughout the night shift.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with the day shift team and interdisciplinary medical staff.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families during overnight hours.
- Respond immediately to emergent medical situations and code blue events.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Oregon (OREGON RN).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or medical-surgical setting.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift patients safely (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
