Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients' medical conditions and vital signs, promptly reporting any changes in status to the charge nurse or physician.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Provide direct patient care, including wound care, personal hygiene assistance, and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Document all patient interactions, care plans, and outcomes accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient handoffs and continuity of care during shift changes.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations, including cardiac arrest (Code Blue) and trauma events.
  • Enforce hospital safety policies and infection control procedures to maintain a secure environment.
  • Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and disease management.

Qualifications

  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent nursing experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
