Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' medical conditions and vital signs, promptly reporting any changes in status to the charge nurse or physician.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care, personal hygiene assistance, and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Document all patient interactions, care plans, and outcomes accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient handoffs and continuity of care during shift changes.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations, including cardiac arrest (Code Blue) and trauma events.
- Enforce hospital safety policies and infection control procedures to maintain a secure environment.
- Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and disease management.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent nursing experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-volume night shift environment.
- Physical stamina to perform job duties requiring standing, walking, lifting, and assisting patients.
