Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and implement care plans as prescribed by physicians.
- Assessments & Documentation: Conduct thorough patient assessments and maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records in the EMR system.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and stability.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication side effects, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to hospital policies, state nursing regulations, and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; CNA or CMT preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts (3x12 or 4x10) including weekends and holidays.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centric care.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
