Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Needs: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans to address physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and clinical status, promptly reporting any changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with Team: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, ensuring patients and their families understand their treatment plans and are comfortable with the care provided.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based on unit.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred, especially in a hospital setting or similar acute care environment.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
