Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by collecting, organizing, and documenting patient data, symptoms, medical history, and information for care planning.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians in accordance with legal and professional standards.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team immediately.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Provide patient and family education to ensure understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Respond to medical emergencies and assist in critical care situations with composure and skill.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Louisiana.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Commitment to professional growth and adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
