Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Perform thorough patient evaluations, including history taking and physical exams, to determine appropriate nursing interventions.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care to ensure continuity of health.
- Clinical Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards to prevent hospital-acquired infections and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and critical situations utilizing advanced life support skills.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Florida Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required; PALS preferred for pediatric units.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and hospital software.
- Professionalism: Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
