Responsibilities
- Assess & Monitor: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs and clinical status to identify changes requiring intervention.
- Medication Management: Accurately administer medications and treatments in strict accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Care Planning: Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to patient needs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR), ensuring all patient encounters and outcomes are documented properly.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventative health measures to promote recovery.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in critical care situations, demonstrating advanced life support skills.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance initiatives and infection control measures to maintain a safe hospital environment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and proficiency in medical-surgical nursing practices.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Technology: Proficient in using electronic medical record systems and hospital technology.
