Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments via phone to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Provide accurate medical advice, symptom interpretation, and appropriate triage recommendations.
- Make informed referrals to primary care physicians, specialists, or emergency services when necessary.
- Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR) for every patient interaction.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and care coordinators to ensure continuity of care.
- Stay updated on clinical guidelines, protocols, and medication interactions.
- Manage high call volumes while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor and empathy.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a clinical, urgent care, or triage setting.
- Strong computer literacy and experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to remain composed and make critical decisions under pressure.
