Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough initial assessments of incoming patients to determine the urgency of care required.
- Triage Protocols: Apply clinical expertise to prioritize patient needs and direct them to the appropriate department or specialist.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers via phone and in-person to ensure clarity and comfort.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all triaged patients.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergency room flow and support crash cart readiness during high-volume periods.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Missouri.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
