Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical assessments and monitor patient vital signs to identify changes in condition.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) for all patient interactions.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit rounds to ensure high standards of care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; experience in Medical-Surgical or Critical Care is a plus.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to navigate electronic medical records (EMR) systems efficiently.
