Responsibilities
- Deliver Exceptional Patient Care: Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans under the supervision of physicians and charge nurses.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Continuously monitor patients for changes in condition and report any deviations from the norm immediately.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care and safety.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment in electronic health records (EHR).
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to emergency situations, including cardiac arrests and trauma events, following established protocols.
- Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care, medications, and disease management.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia or a compact state.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting (Travel/Agency experience preferred).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; CNA/Phlebotomy preferred based on unit needs.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients (50+ lbs), and perform physical duties associated with patient care.
