Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing a comprehensive nursing care plan.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status, promptly reporting any changes or abnormalities to the care team.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and home care instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Mexico.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and privacy (HIPAA compliance).
