Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care in assigned clinical areas, adhering to established protocols and standards
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, monitoring patient responses and documenting outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Assess patient needs, prioritize interventions, and respond effectively to emergency situations
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Mentor junior staff and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Adapt flexibly to changing patient needs and unit demands during weekend coverage
Qualifications
- Active California RN license (compact license accepted for multi-state candidates)
- BSN degree required; MSN or specialty certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in med-surg, telemetry, or ICU
- BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS/NRP for relevant departments
- Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Proven ability to work independently and adapt to flexible scheduling
