In this role, you will be the face of our patient care team, performing essential blood draws and specimen processing. We provide comprehensive training for new hires, ensuring you have the tools you need to succeed in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with a high degree of accuracy and patient comfort.
- Label, process, and transport blood samples to the laboratory following strict chain-of-custody protocols.
- Maintain a sterile environment and strictly adhere to infection control and safety regulations.
- Interact professionally with patients, explaining procedures and alleviating any anxiety.
- Verify patient identities and accurately enter data into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and ensure equipment is sanitized.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Specialist certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
