Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and arrange medical equipment and supplies before surgery.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Ensure operating rooms are clean, organized, and sterile.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical history.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment used in surgical procedures.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite with safety and comfort.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) certification required.
- Current North Carolina Surgical Technologist license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
