Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
- Resolve billing discrepancies through meticulous account audits and payer communications
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all patient data handling and documentation
- Collaborate with clinical teams to verify coding accuracy and documentation
- Generate monthly reports on denial rates and collection performance
- Train junior billing staff on industry best practices and regulatory updates
- Implement process improvements to enhance billing efficiency
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with multi-specialty practices
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency with Epic, Athenahealth, or similar EHR billing modules
- Strong knowledge of CMS guidelines and commercial payer contracts
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven error rate <2%
- Ability to manage high-volume accounts with competing priorities
