Responsibilities
- Accurately code and bill medical services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations for patient procedures
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve billing discrepancies
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and track reimbursement status
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding payment issues
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and denial rates
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement policies
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
