Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance
- Resolve claim denials and rejections within 48 hours
- Conduct comprehensive audits of billing documentation for compliance
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate charge capture
- Manage patient payment plans and financial counseling
- Stay updated on ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding updates
- Generate monthly revenue reports for department heads
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or equivalent certification required
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficient in Epic or NextGen EHR platforms
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and ACA compliance regulations
- Proven track record of reducing claim denial rates below 5%
