Responsibilities
- Accurately code and bill medical services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Manage claim submission and follow-up for optimal reimbursement rates
- Conduct thorough insurance verification and patient eligibility checks
- Resolve billing discrepancies through effective communication with providers and insurers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and state healthcare regulations
- Analyze denial trends and implement corrective action strategies
- Train junior billing staff on best practices and system protocols
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
