Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications according to physician orders and safety protocols
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with medication assistance programs
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV and chemotherapy preparations
- Conduct quality assurance checks and documentation compliance reviews
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Valid CPR certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient communication and team collaboration
