Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatment, including sterilizing instruments and setting up operatories
- Assist dentists during complex procedures (restorations, extractions, crowns)
- Take and develop dental radiographs with precision and care
- Maintain accurate patient records using digital systems like Dentrix
- Implement strict infection control protocols per OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Manage inventory ordering and equipment maintenance
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program graduate or equivalent experience
- Active DANB certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in dental radiography techniques
- Exceptional chairside assisting skills and instrument knowledge
- Strong patient communication and empathy skills
- Experience with digital imaging and practice management software
- CPR certification and current immunizations
