Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, ordering, and waste disposal
- Prepare IV admixtures and sterile compounds following strict protocols
- Maintain compliance with FDA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Utilize EpicRx EMR system for prescription processing
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license required
- PTCB or ExCPT certification mandatory
- 3+ years hospital pharmacy experience
- Expertise in sterile compounding and IV preparation
- Proficiency with pharmacy automation systems (e.g., Omnicell, BD Pyxis)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and medication safety protocols
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends/holidays
