Responsibilities
- Accurately compound and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems and maintain pharmaceutical stock levels
- Process insurance claims and manage patient medication records
- Provide exceptional customer service and patient counseling
- Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, and HIPAA regulations
- Train junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in Maryland (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years hospital or specialty pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of compounding procedures and sterile technique
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology
