Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and potential side effects
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy and resolve complex issues
- Maintain precise records using pharmacy management software and electronic health records
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure efficient operations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services
Qualifications
- Current Florida Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Basic understanding of third-party insurance billing processes
