Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software
- Conduct inventory management and medication compounding
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and state pharmacy regulations
- Train junior pharmacy technicians on standard procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 3 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of prescription medications and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS/1, Rx30)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
