Responsibilities
- Perform advanced venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures with precision
- Operate and maintain state-of-the-art laboratory equipment including automated analyzers
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Collaborate with physicians and lab specialists on complex patient cases
- Manage inventory and quality control for blood collection supplies
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting
- Proven expertise in difficult draws and pediatric/geriatric collections
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Strong attention to detail with zero-error specimen handling record
